"Jesus Saves"

It's been since October since I touched this thing. I love to write. So I began to wonder, why was I not as excited as everyone else about writing in my blog? It dawned on me that, although I love to talk about my friends and family, that my blog wasn't serving a purpose. What better purpose than God's purpose!

Honestly, I don't know what I want to write about yet. I am hoping each week I find something inspiring to say and that God gives me the right song and the right words to talk about it. One thing I do know, each week I will pick a different christian/gospel song to write about from how it makes me feel to the message I got from it.

Week One "Jesus Saves" by Jeremy Camp
We don't call Him our Savior for nothing!

I decided this would be the most appropriate song to talk about first because I believe you can't be saved until you realize that He does save. You must believe you are forgiven and that others can be forgiven too. It can be hard to understand how even the evilest people can be forgiven by God. Although I finally believe this, it's still hard to follow through with it in my daily life but JESUS SAVES. He forgives me for falling short. And he forgives you too. For some people it can feel as if they aren't worthy but God loves you and He knows you are. Because I understand that God saves, I must learn to forgive people as well. It is not up to us to "give people what they deserve."

Verses I enjoy on this topic:

'Do not say, "I will repay evil"; Wait for the Lord, and He will save you.' Proverbs 20:22

"Again, when a wicked person turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what it just and right, he shall save his life." Ezekiel 18:27

"And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12

Pray for me and I'll pray for you,
Mary Wilson

"Because I knew you I have been changed..."

For good. For the best.
Tyler was in my first grade class when I moved to Hernando. Bradley and I have been on each others nerve since the fourth grade. Heather, well it wasn't exactly normal from the beginning. Here we are our Senior year of high school and the memories we had made thus far were THE BEST!

These three people have encouraged me, taught me and explored with me! It wasn't always easy for sure but here we are! Still best friends. I know them better than I know myself sometimes.
It can be overwhelming thinking about how old we are all getting but it's also reassuring to know that they will be there to help me remember how to be young again even when we are all married with jobs and children.

Jessie-changed-my-life-Kennon would have to be my most RECENT bestie, if you can call her that. My Junior year of high school I was in "Grease" and Jessie had a cast/birthday party at her house. I will NEVER tell the story of that night on here but all you need to know is bonding between Jessie and I was inevitable after that night. She and I understand one another like none other. I can remember squeezing her hands when we found out the results for numerous choirs and when the plane lifted off for our trip to Europe, looking into her eyes every time we sing "For Good", when she scratches my head and sings to me when I am sad, that ONE big fight we had that ended in both of us crying because we didn't mean to hurt the other, and adding years onto our life by laughing so much.

Please don't let me mislead you. I have four of the most wonderful best friends in the world but they are not my best friends because we NEVER fought or never lied to each other. They are my best friends because we allowed each other to learn and grow and still never gave up on them no matter what AWFUL decisions we all made. And we will make more, PLENTY MORE! But I can't wait to encourage them, learn with and from them, and explore more of life with them for bad and For Good...

I've heard it said that people come into our lives for a reason, bringing something we must learn.
And we are led to those who help us most to grow if we let them. And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true But I know I'm who I am today because I knew you."
